XCOM on Nintendo Switch: A Thrilling Turn-Based Strategy Game Experience

XCOM is a turn-based strategy game that stands out from others in its genre. Unlike many other games, XCOM doesn't allow you to grind your way through levels until you're ready. Instead, it's an arms race against the enemy, where if you're not prepared, the game will punish you harshly for it. Despite this challenging gameplay, XCOM is surprisingly easy to grasp and understand.

One of the main reasons I've put up with these challenges for years is that there's no other way to experience XCOM like it. Not even games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire Emblem, or Mario + Rabbids can replicate its unique feel. As someone who owns the PS4 version of XCOM, however, I have some concerns about the Switch port.

Unfortunately, my PS4 copy has been problematic, with Ironman mode being non-functional and frequent crashes throughout the game. This made me worry that the Switch wouldn't be able to handle XCOM 2, let alone its DLC and War of the Chosen expansion.

Luckily, I can report that the Nintendo Switch version of XCOM 2 is more than capable of handling the demands of this game. Despite my initial fears, the Switch's hardware handles everything seamlessly, making it a great way to experience this turn-based strategy classic on the go.
